measuring rim offset

Still new to this and am a bit confused on where the offset is measured with rims, Also what is the measurement for the standard warlock rims offset so i have something to compare with when looking for other types and styles? I would like to go with a slightly shallower rim to prevent tires from rubbing on shocks during tight turning.
