I bought a lrp z.28r spec 3 about 2-3 weeks ago, and i am just getting around to fully breakin it in. i was running it yesterday and it ate a slipper pad, and most of the sg. i put a new one on and tightened it up all the way, and it was working great. i got about 3/4 of my 125cc tank through it, running 220* and it makes this weird gurgling noise and dies. i try to pull start it, and the truck rolls when i pull the starter. if i lift it off the ground it will start, but it runs horrible and sounds like something it really wrong. with the truck off the ground, the tires do spin with the engine running, but it runs so bad it dies on its own after 1-2 seconds.

i have 3 tanks on it so far, 1 idling, 1 1/4 throttle, and this one was 1/2 with 3/4 blips. i store it at bdc and put a couple drops of aro in it and spin it over and put it back at bdc.

Sounds like the clutch went. Did you take the CB off and check the shoes and springs?

+1 with the clutch problem, I had a problem with the clutch springs popping out from the clutch nut!! (only happened with the LRP) so upgraded to a mugen nut with a deeper groove...that sorted the problem..

a bearing may also seized, the shoes don't have to be messed up to hang and cause problems, check em out and let us know whats up.

bearings or shoes. check the bearings they can mess up the motor shaft.

i have new bearings on it. i went and took a quick peek at it, and i found the end of a clutch shoe sticking out of the vent in the cb. so i hope it jsut popped off the spring, and i can just pop it back in.
