Ok well I finally get my savy on the road today after 2 weeks of down time, new clutch shoes and springs, new front engine bearing, and a fresh engine seal job. it starts right up and runs great but my engine temps are only reaching 150 degrees.... I use a hand held temperature gun and get real close, i also take readings in multiple spots and still after 20 mintues and 3 full tanks of gas only 147 degrees. at beginning throttle i have to pump the trigger a bit to avoid a stall and when it gets to a higher rpm it runs great, wheelies like no other but what I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to pull the throttle and not have to worry about the engine cutting out. I don't want to have to play with the throttle for a few seconds before i can open it up. also, I haven't been able to get it to shift into second gear. i looked and found that the little ball, spring, and set screw were missing from my 2 speed assembly. I picked up a maintenance kit and replaced those parts....still bad luck. any suggestions? the guy at my LHS said the mc-59 plug is great. its longer and my engine requires a longer plug. do you guys think my plug isnt hot enough to burn off the fuel in the beginning when i hammer the throttle? maybe try a hotter plug or even revert back to the original plug that came with the truck? I'm pretty much stuck right now. I'm about to just buy a brand new 2 speed tranny and throw that in maybe itll shift then.
