Took a bad crash the other day and lost my air filter. The engine kept running and i drove the truck about 20 feet before realizing the filter fell off. So i ran over to it and killed it. How can i flush out my motor to make sure i didnt hurt it or get any dirt inside?

The best way would be to tear it down and make sure there is no unwanted dirt or grit in there...I have had the air filter fall off a few times and it never caused any problems. Add a cable tie to the base of the air filter and that will stop it falling off again...as long as you were not running in a very dusty or gritty area I would take a chance..but thats just me always taking chances 😱)

I have the engine out ready to tear down. if there is any dirt in there what do i get it out with? the air filter was zip tied but it wasnt in the roll bar area so when it tumbled it fell off. from now on i will keep it in there.

I use wd40 to clean the engine or I have even used nitro fuel, but only because I had no wd40...
I guess you could use brake cleaner as long as you dry all the parts before re-building..

Zip ties suck.
Use one of these (pic) and not worry again. I can pick up the Savage (And mines a tank) using the filter now.

I never had this problem until i moved the air filter outside the roll bar area. but the hose clamp was my next option
What roll bar is that?

Well took the motor apart. nothing damaged. hardly any dirt. just a few specs. going to have alittle polishing done while its all apart. figure why not!
