Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy new TVP 's for my savage x, i have the original ones on there and there cracked by the tranny, so time for some new ones !

I was thinking of the FLM Extended TVP's. Are there the same length of the XL TVP 's ??

Or if you recommend other ones. I don't race i mainly bash so i say 2mm or thicker !

Thanks !

i think the ext flm one are 40mm longer than stock and the xl is 50 but I'm not sure one that completely. but flm is 4.7mm thick which is like an 1/8 thick.

You can make the stock roll bar work with a piece of aluminum and a couple of bolts. A few guys here have done this. Not very hard. I just cant put a wing on a Savage. Like having tuner car parts on a Chevelle lol.

i don't run a wing & the mill is still well protected by the stocker roll bar & rear shock tower.

a wing would make mill damage (dare i say) impossible.

ext adds 1 1/2" of length to your savage behind the mill only

length of savage stays the same from the tranny forward

So what your saying is that i could use the engine guard but i would have to mod it ?
Like have to metal rods going down in the engine plate, and bolt them to the engine guard were it would go on the shock tower ?

I've seen a couple people put engine guards on an XL. Don't see why these methods won't work on FLM's. You can use the long body mounts to mount to the TVP and extend up for the engine guard, or you can get a metal plate and drill two holes, both on one side of the plate so the body mount can go into it then into the shock tower, then on the other end drill two holes so you can use screws and locknuts to hold the engine guard down.

Using the long body mounts

I borrowed this picture off of RCU for the metal plate method:

There was a method using the ends of upper arms, but I can't seem to remember where I saw it.

I'm not sure if you have checked out my Platinumrcproducts ones. I do have extended and LCG. They are 1.5" rear extended and are Carbon Fiber which is much lighter than any other extended ones out there. They will also with stand anything you throw at them. Thought I would throw them out there.

I did and they do. I hit that back jump over and over today till I snapped a big bore end. TVPs mill mount tank plate all 100% they are stronger then FLM! not to mention the truck is now 9.18 pounds dry... :resp:

Carbon is a great material to use, I would say it's the really good for racers, maybe for bashers too.
XL's are extended to I think 2 inches. FLM's are extended 1.6in, and am not sure with PRC. May want to ask. But I think the XL's are the longest.
