The spur gear I'm using right now is the upgrade from HPI. It keeps shaking itself loose, screws backing off, even after using blue threadlock. I would really like a single piece spur gear and am looking at the Integy spurs. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

Gator, do you mean the nut that holds the tension spring against the spur? that is the problem i ran into on sat & plan to wrench it down TIGHT!

The Stock Plastic one is Superior, IMO. will last forever as long as its meshed correctly and not cooked. It also gives a great weak link. A metal spur when meshed improperly will wreck the spur and the CB then its going to be a spendy fix. A plastic stock spur is ~$2.99. Cant beat it, I have roughly 3-4 gallons on the plastics in both of my savys.

It's actually the screws that hold the gear on the hub that come loose all the time. I like the spur it's just annoying when I have to keep fixing it. I'm going to try red threadlock on it and seeif that makes a difference.

The nut has a plastic thread lock in it. If its backing out it needs to be replaced. Putting thread lock on it only harms the thread lock on the nut.
