Ok. So I have this problem and need some ideas. When I push my truck forward by hand my slipper clutch spins and flywheel spins. As I try to go back it locks up. Almost like the brake is engaged but it's not. I did try to shim my tranny and was wondering if that could cause that problem or it could be caused by something else.

I know u prob checked this, but I have to ask anyway is the spur gears teeth good.

If you flywheel is spinning when you push the truck forward you most likely have an issue with the clutch. The fly wheel should not spin unless the engine is actually on or you pulling the PS.

Agreed with Bank, remove the shims and check the OWB in the trans.

Are you sure the brakes are loose? Are you running the SS Dual Disk kit?

I wonder if I put the clutch shoes on backwards??? I will have to take the thing apart tomorrow and find out.

They can run both ways... I run mine in my locked tranny the other way. "bacwards" leading engagement makes for a harder hit. "Normal" trailing clutch makes it softer.
