That's the radio I'm currently using. It's a pretty good radio. But, honestly, you'll be alot better off goin with a 2.4ghz (or spread spektrum) radio. Gion that route will give you a near glitchless radio and alot faster response times. Plus, most of them come with a fail safe built in. You also don't have to worry about other people runnin on the same frequency.

What would be a good model to look in to? i don't race or anything just bash around so i don't need anything super fancy

Spektrum brand radios are good. They are probably the most reasonably priced too. They have three different models you can choose from. They have the DX2.0, DX3.0 and the newest DX3R. If you have reverse or plan on adding it, I'd go with the DX3.0 or the DX3R. If not, go with the DX2.0. The DX2.0 is only a 2ch. radio and the DX3.0 and the DX3R are 3ch. radios. All three with give you plenty of adjustment options.

I have 2 Futaba 2.4 ghz FASST 3PM's and love them both, my brother also runs 2 of them. We have had no issues. They have much more features than you will ever need as well and hold a 10 model memory. I run all my land vehicles on them and will keep it that way. I will never look back, one of the best things I have ever done. Once the stuff is set up you very seldom have to go back and change settings, nothing will interrupt. They have a built in fail safe in them, however I rarely set it. You do have to set it every time but is very easy one button set up. This is a 3 channel radio and can be had for around $175 at the right places.

I will always stay Futaba as far as radios go. There the best as far as i'm concerned but thats just my .02.

I have a Futaba Fasst only had the truck out three times with it. and i am very pleased. i think the best thing about it is when i tell people that my truck has anti lock brakes. the looks are priceless.

just do a little research. opinions are one thing but make sure that either the spektrum or the futaba have what you want
