Is something wrong with my steering servo

On my X the wheels sitting on the stand just move back and fourth freely. The guy that sold me this has a T-maxx and his wheels do not do this, you have resistance from the servo back and fourth. When i put battries in it work left to right but there was a click. Have not taken it apart yet?

Does the servo turn the front wheels fine while driving it? What servo are you running on the steering? stock? If you have a SS, X, or XL savage the first thing i would check is the servo saver spring and nut to make sure they are tight, if all looks well check to see if the servo horn is stripped (which is why i asked if it works fine while driving, if it does forget this statement). Make check all of your steering linkages.

4.6 stock rtr x. I tried to tighten the saver spring but it would not move.

Servo is striped. Replace it. If it clicks its missing teeth.

Well your right, I had some time tonight and got motivated took it apart and a little white peace fell out first.
