Integy Alloy Rear Hub Carrier For The Savage

So I've been wanting to get Integy's rear hub carrier for a while now. When I was searching for it on Tower Hobbies I found two models!

The old Integy Alloy Rear Hub Carrier Silver Savage X (2)

And the new Integy Heavy Duty Rear Hub Carrier Silver HPI Savage XL

Does anyone have and thoughts on the new "XL" model? Anyone running them? I may get the new model instead.

Just ordered the XL heavy duty version, waiting for them to arrive, il post pics when iv fitted em and let you know how they get on.

I think Frddyj said he had them in the past too so maybe he can tell you more about them.

I do like the new heavy duty style but the originals hold up just fine especially for the $$ savings. I run 2 sets of the originals and have not had any problems.

i had the originals which were the bomb for the 2-3 gallons i ran them. only took em off caz i got the hpi rsc & now visionary has them on his truck.

if i had the choice id prob grab the new xl set caz they look bad to the bone but the old skool will work fine for you if you go that route. 😛eace:

also to note the new xl is probly fitted to use the bigger cups and dogbones ever though of that guys lol but people have had the old ones with no issues

don't think it matters, caz the cups are bigger, but the axle diameter is the same. thats why you can use the same axle bearings on the X or XL & also the HPI RSC works with a X or XL.

XL version of these look like the hpi 1's.

Note: I run 2 sets of the old ones, one is on standard X Drive cups and one on the XL Drive cups with no problems.

i have probably 5 gallons or so on my old style with the xl drive axles and they are holding up well. they are showing a little bit of play at the upper control arm mounting point but its well within aceptable for the abuse i give my truck

Anybody know if the XL type will fit on the X or 25 arms. The only thing that looks different would be the length of the wheel axles.

No problem man, yea those are stock X arms there my man, I'm just using the XL extended axles, bones and cups, but they will universaly fit both the X and XL, the arms are the same.

Cant say for the 25 arms, i don't know.
