I need help fitting right tire size to wheel

Aloha All,

I looking to buy some new wheels and tires for my Savage 21, but I don't know how to determine what wheel size or tire size will fit each other.

here is what i'm looking at but not sure if they fit right.

Tire
Pro-Line Trencher 3.8" All Terrain Front/Rear (2)

REQUIRES: Mounting to 3.8" monster truck wheels (Pro-Line 40 Series) Tire glue (DTXR2000, DTXR2002)

SPECS: Outer Diameter: 6.89" (175mm) Width: 3.43" (87mm)

Wheel:
Axial Wicked Retro 5-Spoke MT Wheel Black Chrome

SPECS: Outer Diameter: 80.47mm (3.168")
Width: 55.71mm (2.194")
Hex Adapter: 17.00mm (0.670")

ok, those particular tires wont work with those particular rims


if you look at the listing for the tires, it says this: REQUIRES: Mounting to 3.8" monster truck wheels (Pro-Line 40 Series)

so if your set on those tires, then look for 40-Series Rims.


if your set on the rims, then look for Maxx Size tires.

also don't forget the 21 and the 14mm hex hubs , you might want to ebay a set of 17mm adapters as well

ok so I have to match the wheel OD to the tires ID right?

how do you match it if you only get Diameter and Width: and no ID or OD?

this is all new and confusing to me. Sorry for asking so much questions I feel like an idiot LOL

According to tower hobbies they said this wheel and tire should fit. and the wheel comes with a 17mm adapter.

I got set of dirt bonz looking for new rim what size would i need look for? the axial rim he liked will it work. or something else .thanks tony
