I have a question...

I m trying to find a picture that I saw a while back. It was in a thread unrelated to the drivetrain. The person who posted the picture was trying to show somthign else on his truck, but someone else noticed the outdrive cup for the center dogbone coming from the diff housing. It was worn beyond belief. It had like a notch worn into it where the dogbone pin wore into it.

Does anyone know where that picture was?

Well, I'll put in my two cents...

It won't happen like the pic I saw on the front of the truck because of the angle that the dogbone goes into the outdrive. As the outdrive turns the dogbone pin would be moving in and out, so to speak, of the cup and would not have the opportunity to wear into the cup in one place like this.

The rear dogbone must go almost straight right into the cup for it to wear like that. My savage isn't together or I'd just go look, haha. If the dogbone didn't go straight into the cup then there would be some serious binding issues with this guys truck.

None the less, it was hilarious looking 🙂
