I had a thought this past week.

savage is a good name for a Decepticon i felt. i draw up some XL TVPs in autocad and machined them out using one of the CNC machines at work. the fit is pretty good for the first go around. i don't like how the emblem came out. needs to be more open. also, the cut outs might be too much for carbon fiber causing weak spots. suggestions are welcomed. i cut this one from 1/8" masonite to see if my holes lined up.

Cool man, I'm not sure about the cutouts being weak spots. It seems like it would be fine since there are holes in the TVP's also, but there may something weird with the layers of fibers if it's not cut all the way through. The person to ask would be Larsenracing on this site. His name is Jason and he is the vendor for Platinum RC Products. They do lots of carbon fiber stuff and I'm sure he could give you an answer about that!

i maybe putting the brakes on this till i find out if i can get a diamond coated cutter for the CNC machine here at work. i used a 22.5 degree V bit to cut my prototype out. what's nice about this bit is that the actually cutting blade can be changed out. replaceable blades are cheaper then buying the entire bit. currently the cutters are solid carbide.
