Well, the Savvy was running strong as all get out today. And I hit a couple rather small jumps. I hit one, had to rock the throttle a bit to land it right, and pop goes the spur gear. Man it was quick. I couldn't believe how strong it was running.

But, it made me hit the LHS today, and I got me a new body as well!

But here's the pic of the spur gear. Guess I toasted it real good LOL!

i have never seen such a perfectly rounded spur gear. great jorb!

JORB!! I got a great JORB! 🙂

Yeah, I may have had it a tad to tight after remounting the motor last night lol. I'll replace it though. The LHS had one left, they get more next monday!

I'll change it sometime this week. 🙂 I'll be working on my new body first. I can't wait to show that badboy off!

WOW...I've taken out teeth before....but you did a complete root-canal there bud!!! Nice job!! And not to beat a dead horse, but setting your mesh with a peace of folded over paper works best IMHO. There should be just the slightest play, completely around the spur gear/ clutch bell mesh once it is set.

Nice one. I've gotten pretty good at stripping spur gears (gone through quite a few) but I still have hope for every spur gear I throw on there.

I like that spur too 🙁 The mesh was just a tad tight, but I said to heck with it. It lasted a good while too! Next one will be set just right. 😀

Yep I have stripped many spur gears and none have looked that round, my stripped ones have always happened from the motor sliding I think.

Just had to put in a fresh 49. Got to teach the 6 year old how to ease that finger on the landings.

I went through about 20 spur gears on my RC10, right after I put the TRX .15 pro into service. I finally found exactly how to mesh them after a numerous amount of tries. LOL!

This shouldn't be to hard to do the same with. I am happy that I really smoked my first one. It's pretty much polished. I know it was a bit tight, and the alignment is JUST perfect on the back half of the spur. So, it's either move the flywheel forward, or nothing at all. I'm content at where it is, and I'll be sure to mesh the new spur gear correctly this time. 🙂

The SS manual actually gives you places to cut the paper to use for the mesh setting. lol

They are really handy! Used all mine now though. Been lucky with my spur gear, it's looking a little worn but still running sweet!
