link? or pic?

if its the hpi 3000 mah one, i say no. baddasz_savage posted it next to a savage pack a while back & it was HUGE

The 3000MaH one is too big for the Savage, unless you find a place to mount it outside of the receiver box or battery box. I believe the 3000MaH is made of sub-C cells and the regular ones seen are made of either 2/3A, AA, or AAA.

It looks to be a bit bigger than a 2/3A receiver pack. (Comparing to a Trinity receiver pack.) It'll work since you have a mid tank and not using stock receiver box, so try to find a place to mount it. I don't think the Hellfire box will be able to fit it though.

Venom Baja pack: 68x43x46mm
Trinity pack: 51 x 31 x 32mm

Edit: I didn't read your full question. It'll work with your radio equipment since it puts out 6V just like a hump pack would. But like said, you will need a place to mount it.

yea, thats a big pack Fx : Dimensions (LxWxH): 2.67x1.6x1.8" (68x43x46mm)

5000 mah is way overkill for the amount of power that the servos on a savage will draw.

another thing to consider is how you plan to charge your pack. if you plan to use the wall plug thing that comes with most, youd be doing yourself a favor to buy a 1200 - 1600 mah pack & a decend charger like a hyperion or venom so it fits in your truck.

hyperion charges my 1200 to full capacity and ive never run it out of juice on a bash.

As you get to know me better one thing you'll learn about me is that I LOVE overkill. I have a venom 1200mah pack and I charge it on a dynamite prophet Plus charger.

I was thinking about getting a LiPo pack until I learned that you need a special charge for them. I may get the baja pack and tell you guys how it is.

lol I have melted packs on that charger.. also cant do 1 C on that pack. its good to 4000mah

That 5000 is over kill on you suspension forget its run times it not worth the weight. 1600 will give you hours. PLus its 2/3a Smaller than AA cells. AA can give you 2200+ but not worth the weight to me .. I have yet to run one truck more than 3 hours in a day. plus it's charged b4 I get done running the 2nd truck (if I charge on site normaly don't) that is 5 c cells think about it...

Is it really gonna be that heavy? I'm not to crazy about this charger either, I've had it ever since I got into the hobby (LHS recommended it). Anyone have a charger they would like to recommend? Are there chargers that charge my hump packs as well as LiPo packs? I'm a n00b when it comes to rc electronics.

Ou can a way better charger than that imo. Also to run a LiPo in a savage u have to run a server requlator along with bec wich is more wiring hassle.

Have a look at this one....when it comes to chargers I prefer Hyperion.

Don't have one since I don't have LiPo but many people at the track here have them and love them

I have charger and really like it. It comes with ALL the connectors you will need. Great charger for the price IMO.

i considered both of these chargers when i was in the market caz i wanted the features that both had to offer & wanted ac/dc without buying an extra DC pack.

had to go with the hyperion caz the Venom was not released to the market yet.

btw like Allan said, Venom comes with all the leads, if you go hyperion, get this squid http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/35606/n/Racers-Edge-The-Squid-Charging-Adaptor

Unbelievably happy with this purchase.
