Recently did two mods I think are worth sharing:
- Two Hudy 40mm Fans Ref: 29311
For a while I tried to run my Flux XL without any motor fans, I did try a couple of fans, but the blades were breaking all the time. Now it's summer in my country, very hot weather... I was getting between 3 and 4 minutes of running time, even with a 1650 kv motor... Those Hudy fans are the best ones I've tried yet, the blades are bigger and stronger, and it moves a ton of air. Now I'm able to run the Savage for 15 to 20 minutes. I have two to cool the motor and one for the ESC, the ESC one is from Team Corally with an aluminium body but modified with one of those Hudy fan blades to be more reliable.
- New IC5 connectors from Spektrum Ref: SPMXCA503 and SPMXCA50
Was getting tired of the XT 90 connectors, they were a pain in the ass to disconnect and were getting very hot after each run, after installing those IC5's the overheating went away, and even the batteries run a lot cooler now.
Both the fans and those connectors are quite expensive, but worth the money in my opinion.
