Savage truck owners can now add a Sway Bar Set to their trucks. This is an official HPI option part that is built to factory specifications for a perfect fit. Each set includes a pair of 2.0mm black bars (medium stiffness) and a pair of 2.4mm silver bars (firm stiffness). The design is fully adjustable so you can easily vary the stiffness to tune for track conditions. A middle notch keeps the sway bars centered and prevents them from sliding. All of the necessary mounting hardware is included. Fits all Savage X trucks. Also fits original Savage trucks that have been upgraded with Savage X bulkheads.

The Savage X SS is now available with the huge K5.9 engine. The powerful Nitro Star K5.9 engine comes from the Savage XL truck where it has proven to deliver massive power, bolting it into a smaller and lighter truck means it will have an even higher horsepower-to-weight ratio! The KAn anodized billet aluminum head keeps it cool during extreme off-road driving, and standard features include true ABC construction using a long-life chromed sleeve, a composite carburetor for high performance and improved high temperature tuning, and a pullstarter for easy starting. The engine is mated to a high performance polished tuned pipe and high flow tube header to help maximize power output.

The drivetrain is equipped to handle the K5.9 power. Critical parts from extra-tough Savage Flux drivetrain have been added, including #86246 Super Heavy Duty Drive Shafts, #86928 Super Heavy Duty Axles, #86248 Super Heavy Duty Diff Shafts, and #102692 Machined Bulletproof Diff Bevel Gear Set. Cast alloy differential cups with steel pin guides are standard on the front and rear of the truck, delivering unmatched durability and extending the standard maintenance interval of the diffs. All of the internal diff gears are shimmed for precise mesh, and we even shim the outdrive bearings and input shafts for extra precision. And, we include a hardened steel spur gear with a matching ventilated "racing" clutchbell for the ultimate in drivetrain strength, right out of the box.

Following the tradition of past SS models, the Savage X SS is one of the few build-it-yourself monster truck kits on the market, aimed at R/C enthusiasts who enjoy the process of building and customizing their truck. Great find, il look out for them when theyre available and that new SS looks awesome (except for the K5.9 and stainless brakes) suppose they had to leave something left to upgrade lol
 
looks interesting wondering how well they will work. I made my own a month ago out of the lst kit for 18 bucks. I think 28 is a bit steep but hey that is what the hpi site says and the site prices are always higher than actual retail.

It was working a while ago but the page was pulled down for some reason.
 
It seems great, I am gonna get one set as soon as possible. I live in Turkey, i went to the HPI distributor today and ordered a set of this sway bars, they said it can take 3 or 4 weeks to arrive. I share the pictures after i got it.
 
I am not sure about them mounting in the front like that. My Mini-raminator had sway bars like that and it seems to really make it to stiff in handling. Guess I will wait and see how they work after their release.

3 to 4 weeks? :crazy: YIKES! Yeah LHS said they can't even order them yet.
 
that savage XL SS kit doesnt even come with big bores for that price! /FAIL

Agreed, I'm tired of HPI releasing the savage with only minor upgrades. They need to step it up and start making some real advancements.

While I agree some "goodies" should have been added, I am just happy to see HPI release a KIT!!! (I've been personally on them about that)

The mags will have you believing that RTR's are the wave of the future, and I think the manufacturers are listening to that nonsense.

They are cutting out a HUGE segment of the hobby. I, and many others LIKE TO BUILD KITS!!

I don't think youl be able to use it with RPM arms as they are, youl need to drill the hole thats in the stock arms.
