Here is the factory manual for that engine. It use's flush factory settings.

Been forever since I have set one up but they were pretty easy as I recall. Still have the piston/connecting rod out of that engine on my keys today.

If you are absolutely sure it has been fully broken in, id start 1/2 turn in from flush on the HSN. Then continue to tune as normal.

Thank you for the quick reply. ill have a go at it tomorrow evening. What do you recon the top speed is for this engine on a 1:8th Truck?

Sounds good, let us know how it goes.

Would depend on the gearing, but if I recall correctly, the Savage .21 was advertised at 31+MPH.

if its as worn out as it looks then id be checking to see how worn out the bearings, piston and cylinder are before putting the head back on, if that engine is in a mess then i don't think its going to tune up that well

Agreed, I was assuming that wasn't the actual engine in question, and that it were just for reference.

But really can't tell condition by just looking at the side of a dirty mill.
