How to instal VENOM SPEED METER

i just got my VSM it looks cool and small, i looked at the manual but its not very clear.

does any1 have a truck with VSM because i know it will be a lot easier to see it on some1's truck rather than try to figure out how to do it from a manual.

i will have to see if i can dig up the pics i had of mine when i owned one

basicially tho i mounted the sensdor to the engine plate over the rear drive cup comming out of the diff. then drilled a shallow hole and jb welded the magnet into the drive cup. haD THE sensor screwed tot he engine plate right over the drive cup and then calibrated it and was done

Hi,

I am not too sure about your sensor, but from what I have read here it sounds like it could be much like the one I have, which is the Nomadio speed sensor.

the thing is, if you install this on the input side of the transmission you will get the rpm's of the motor, you will be able to calibrate it for speed in one gear but once it shifts it will be off, if you install the sensor on the output side of the transmission it should be calibrated in all gears. that thread should have enough info for you to get the magnet in place anyway. good luck

BTW, one thing I would have done, if I wasn't too lazy (and still will do someday) after epoxying the magnets in (on) the cup, if I would have taken it all apart I would have put a peice of heat shrink over the cup. in any case I haven't had any problems the way it is.
