over applied glue ? I'm not sure what you mean exactly saying you have stock wheels .. thry are normally good as far as excess glue.

if you are tring to remove the tires to paint the wheels and reuse the tires
most the time when you remove the tire from the wheel you will not be able to reuse the tire as they get damaged

If you bake them you can reuse both if you don't rush it and rip them.. My mulchers have been on 3 sets of rims now and my badlands 2... Also removed 2 sets of HPI stock rubber to take the rims (mulchers) and sold the rubber 100%..

Just thought I would mention that I painted my stock wheels and I haven't found a paint yet that holds up good. The center area of the wheel gets too much flex and the paint flakes off. Not super bad but they need to be retouched often to look good. The outside of the wheel holds up better (where the beadlock ring would be if it had one) I just taped the tire off instead of removing it from the wheel. Get wide masking tape, covers it quick and you can tuck the edge of the tape between the rim and tire. There's what mine look like.
