will this work with my hpi tf3 controller or will i have to get a different controller to use a digital servo

This servo will most defiantly work. I run three of them between my savages and Truggy. They are a great servo nice and strong whale being cost effective and digital.

The reason why digital servos are "better" is because for one thing a digital servo uses a digital amp instead of a analog amp, this in turn increasing the potential holding power and position accuracy.

Also a digital servo produces its max torque in less then one degree. So as soon as you move the steering or throttle, you get the max torque right away and it will stay that way until you stop steering or moving the servo.

Now an analog servo however produces it's max torque in no less then 10 degrees. The major downfall of the analog servo was though that when it moves from it's present position to it's command position is it looses it torque as it gets the to the position you controlled it to.

Now for throttle there really is no need to speed the extra money and get a digital servo, but for steering I would recommend it just because you get the max torque as soon as you need it, etc. Hopefully this is understandable.

I have a hitec 5985mg(digital) for steering and a 625mg(analog), and I cant go wrong, The digital one was deffinatly worth the money, its very accurate and its very fast 0.11 transit speed.

@ scrogathon: are you using the standard receiver/transmitter or another ones?

I'm asking because I'd want to know if the standard RF1 receiver and TF3 transmitter will work with a digital servo (yours to say) without any mod.

Thanks

And one different question:

Between hitec 5985mg(digital) that is round 90$ and Hitec HS-5645MG (digital) that is around 55$ what would you choose for steering for an X4.6?

LE: (I have made 2 posts sorry)....
