Slipper clutch pad keeps ripping its self apart

HI everyone

I own a savage x i was stripping spur gears so i went out and bought steel spur gear and clutch bell to suit. Problem I'm having is slipper clutch pad keeps ripping its self apart. Went through two already ive tightend as manual says. The spur gear does have drilled holes around it (light weight ) so they say would this make less area for pad to stick too which will stripp the pad? or do i super glue it? or am i doing something wrong? Any comment would help Cheers

first off welcome to the forum. i had the same prob with my metal spur i had to scuff the spur on the area the slipper sits. then tighten the nut all the way then back it off a 1/4 turn and you should be good to go.

welcome to the forum my friend!! i personally like using the plastic spurs, as long as your mesh is ok they last a long time and are like $5 bucks to replace.. plus the plastic spurs are meant to be the "weak point" with a bad mesh or whatever they will fry before any more internal damage can be done!!!!! lets say you launch it off a jump and don't realize you bent or cracked the motor plate well that will throw the mesh off and with a steel spur that will transfer the force internally!

Having to re adjust shift point constantly

Another Q for you all
I adjusted where my 2 speed gear box shift point is because it wasn,t.
I get it to where i want it then two tanks of fuel later its not changing again
So i adjust it again and off we go
Any ideas why it keeps changing

you might have the adjustment screw backing out, or your tune is changing causeing the trans not to shift properly

Is the engine broken in? If you are still breaking in the engine its best to wait on tuning the trans until thats done. As the engine gets broken in its capable of hitting higher and higher RPMs which changes the shifts.
