So I was running my Savage 25, trying to get it dialed in. It was running great then all of a sudden it just did a nose dive (on flat asphalt) and now it won't go. The engine is fine and the spur seems fine. What the heck. I think it is my tranny but I wanted to ask before I tore it down. Thanks.

P.S. I wasn't able to roll it at all to after it locked up. After gently moving it around it now rolls forward and backward. This in turn makes the spur gear spin

yeah I am pretty sure it was my rear diff. It is stock other than a mid tank mod. I was able to drive it jsut now. The only wheel with power is one in the front. What should I do now. I was trying to get my first wheely out of her. It hasn't ever done wheelies. I think it was because I always ran it too rich. I have the 4 bevel dif gears. Is there something better that isn't too hard to install or pricey.

upgrade to the savage4.6 alum diffs Nitronutzz has good prices on the whole setup

sounds like a plan, what about the CEN diffs, or is that overkill for the weekend/something broke it sets for months warrior

I just put alum diff cups in my 25 both the stock and 4 bevel gear diff cups (plastic one)faled wear the cross shafts sit,now they have been good just cant get it to wheely anymore wih 40 tires on it but i would check the diff cups.

Thanks, I'll dig into it and let you know what I find. Hopefully it will be obvious.

Those stock HPI rims always strip. You can't go wrong with a set of RPM offsets. They have a lifetime garrantee, and there a great price. I use them on all my trucks.

I have the maximizer beadlocks and had just installed a set of proline badlands. I was disappointed with the maximizers as every time I went out with the hpi dirt bonz I would pull the bead out of the rim. I took the truck out on the week end with the badlands and drove it really hard and the beads were all still perfect. I'm very impressed with these tires too. I haven't tried them on asphalt yet which I hear they don't do too well on. On grass these tires grip almost too well but I prefer these to the dirt bonz as I no longer need a football field to turn around on. The badlands also come with molded foams which is nice.

i have axial beadlocks with proline big joe tires and i love them so much better then stock
