HELP Boss Audio BA2900 AMP

Heyy Guys,

I recently got myself a Toyota Hilux 1993. When i got it it came with an alpine deck and two alpine 120W Speakers. Now the Speakers have already blown so i got myself some Blaupunkt (i think thats how you spell it lol)120W 3Way speakers and its awsome. The deck is a 45Wx4 and i have bridged the fronts and rears so i am running the two Blaupunkt's at 90W each and it sounds way better.

But i have also just been given a Boss Audio BA2900 1000W Amp but i got it seccondhand and i didnt get any manuals. So now I'm really confused on how to wire it up because i cant find any Manuals on the net.

I have been looking around and it seems that there are heaps of people that have worked at audio shops on the forum so i was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of the Manual or if someone had one and could explain.

Well, as it's one of the things we do at work, here goes:

Get an amp wiring kit! This will consist of
*Live power cable- this runs from the battery (where it's fused around 8" from the terminal) through the bulkhead/firewall (plenty of grommits to go through) to the boot (usual place for the amp) or wherever you have the amp situated. RUN THIS DOWN THE SAME SIDE AS THE BATTERY;

*Earth Cable- run this as short as possible, usually from the amp to the spare wheel well, it needs metal-to-metal contact to earth out through the chassis. The shorter it is, the less chance of interference, usually in the form of alternator whine;

*Remote Cable- this is a small blue cable that runs from the head unit to the amp to swich it on when th head unit is on, so as not to run the battery down, this I usually run down the same side as the power cable, but you can run it the other (see below for RCA) side, as it draws minimal current;

*RCA/Phono Cables- These run from the output (Alpines should be one, two or three) on the head unit to the amp. These carry the sound sigmal from the head unit to the amp at around 4V, so they obtain less interference. Run these the OPPOSITE side to the battery wire, or down the middle of the car. Along the same side as the live cable and I guarantee nasty interference.

Now, There are two options here, run speaker cables from the amp direct to the speakers, or join them from the amp to the speaker wires behind the head unit, using the vehicles' loom to go to the speakers. As they are not overly powerful I would suggest this method.

Amp postition-If you have room, I would also suggest maybe seeing if it will fit under either of the front seats, as you are running fronts, saves running cable all the way down the truck and back again.

When Wiring the speakers, make sure +ive on the amp goes to +ive on the speaker, otherwise the spekaer will be out of phase. Dependant on your sensitivity, you might not notice, but It'll effectively remove the bass, and doesn't do the speaker a great deal of good. Hope this helps you out bud.
