well today i bought some more fuel, and i got some team losi nitrotane, as they didnt have any sidewinder (which i usually get). well the dude at my lhs recomened this stuff as thats what he runs in his race trucks. when i get home i open it up and fill up my fuel bottle to find out that its clear. my question is, is there anything i could ad to the fuel to colour it so i can it when it is in my tank without ruining the fuel?

because i know this is gonna frustrate me when out bashing thinking i got lots iin the tank when i don't cus i cant see where its at.

I hope someone has a good save idea.... I use White Lightning in my race truck and it is also clear. I have been wondering the same thing. I thought food coloring might work, but I don't know if that would also dye the tank and fuel line, or hurt the engine. I guess we will see what everyone thinks!!

Maybe try a few drops of after-run oil or ATF. A tiny bit certainly shouldn't hurt anything. I haven't done this (never had clear fuel), but I wouldn't be afraid to try.

If its like Odonnells than it gets yellow as it goes bad. The more color you have the older the fuel is.

Well, being as it is, you shouldn't run any food coloring through the engine, it's water based. You might be able to run some castor style oil, one drop of the dark blue would certainly color a tank of fuel. You could probably also try that "Nitro Smell" exaust flavor stuff, it has some different colors in the selection at my local shop.

I was just going to recommend that nitro scent stuff. I haven't ever used it, but some guys that I have know have used and haven't had a problem.
