Does everyone run a fail safe on their RC? I was thinking about getting one for my Savage X 4.6. Does anyone recommend a certain brand/model fail safe? Thanks CWOOLIE

i have the futaba micro fail safe...its cheap and easy to setup. venom also makes a temp/fail safe...its more expensive, but i think its not needed.

$20 is worth spending....unless.... you want to experience, first hand, the gut wrenching feeling you get when your $500 savage X gets stuck at WOT heading for a wall/curb ect. It only happened to me once and it was on my tmaxx, there was nothing to salvage, it was a walk away. buy the failsafe 😀

^^^what finesse said...the micro is like 20 bucks...i think the venom is like 40 bucks...get one...piece of mind is worth more than 20 bucks.

If you are planning on upgrading your radio anytime soon, most 2.4g systems have one built in.

I use the Futaba FAAST 2.4g personally.

I wouldnt get the venom one if your getting one. Go with the futaba. or like has been said if your going to upgrade your radio most 2.4 systems come with one built in. just make sure that it has a low voltage fail safe built in.

I agree with both of these. I let the dude at the LHS talk me into the venom ($50)cuz it had a "temp" failsafe feature & some other features that you don't need as long as you know how to tune.

just get a $20 failsafe that protects against low voltage & signal loss & your set.

or even better, put that $20 toward a Futaba 3PM Fasst & its built in

Re:2.4 systems Faildsafe...

BE CAREFULL! Some (I believe Spekky's) don't have low voltage protection, just siganl loss, to re-iterate you want a failsafe that has sigal loss and low voltage (talking rx, as if the tx had low voltage, it'd be covered by signal loss) protection. I have and have had the venom micro failsafe (NOT the temp one) it's easy to set up and is nice and small. And yes, they plug in-line, basically the throttle servo plugs in to it, then it plugs into the reciever.

All The Best,

I have the spektrum pro module in my M11 and it has low voltage protection. I do not belive the dx series does though. not sure about th d series either. but The pro modules do have it built in.

Does the venom micro failsafe cover both signal loss and battery loss? Thanks for the tip! CWOOLIE

plain venom here, no complaints other than what i hear, i have it set so it puts the brakes on a bit. cant have a 15-25 lb rc hitting someones car at 40mph.

I run the OFNA micro and the Venom micro and they both have worked trouble-free for years now.
