Electrickery/Radio questions.

Morning Gang!

Now I've got my Savage, here begins the onslaught of questions...:duh:

How long should the batteries in the handset last?

What sort of distance can I get between the car and handset before it all goes pear shaped?

I was out playing in the rain yesterday. Is this alright, or is it best to stick to dry days due to the electrics?

i usually don't go more than 100 feet with the factory radio
with good batts in thetx ive gone 3 months before the light starts to flash
if you seal up the electronics you should have no probs in the wet but remember don't try to tune the motor for temperature as the rain or snow will cool it faster

ive gone 200ft with the stock stuff, but it began to glitch out and go in w/o streaks. but i upgraded to 2.4ghz now.

as far as running in the rain. everyone has their opinion. i have run in the rain snow sleet hail, and never had a problem till i forgot to tighten down my steering servo and it snapped.

i myself don't run my savage x in the rain much but i've seen alot of people running in the rain and snow and doesnt seem to hurt much!!! as you said just have to be careful with the electronics
