I bought a DuraTrax IntelliPeak ICE DC Competition Charger a couple of months ago for my NiMH batteries and have been pretty happy with it. But converting to electric and LiPos, I am beginning to see some shortcomings with this charger. For one, it doesn't balance. I would love to have the Hyperion Duo or the Thunder Power 820CD, but I just can't afford either one at the moment. So, I am considering my alternatives.
My batteries are both 6000mAh, 25~50C, one is 2S and the other 3S. I don't see why I can't charge both at the same time if I connect them in SERIES and set the charger for 5S. That leaves me with only the balancing issue. Does anyone have any recommendations for an external balancer? The batteries have a JST-XH balance plug, so a connector board that will accommodate these plugs would be a plus.
