Drilling Holes in the Wheel

I was looking on the web for some tips on how to glue my tires to my wheels and what kind of prep I need to do. I saw this video where the guy drills 3 holes in his wheel to help the wheel breath. is this something you guys would recommend? is this a better way then tying mono line around the wheel to keep it from expanding?

years ago i used to drill holes but haven't for some time now , most rims comes pre drilled now.the last set i counted 4 holes .that being said i still have my tires expanding.duck seems to work for buggy guys but I don't know how it works for MT tires.

Yeah chimp is right most wheel come with holes these days, but I also put a couple of holes in the tyres with a leather hole punch, it lets the water out if you happen to get some in the tyres.

I don't vent my rims I only vent my tires. 4 holes @ noon 3 6 9.

How does the tire hold up when drilling holes in them? do they eventually rip were the holes are? does the tire still balloon?

No they don't rip before they are warn out. ballooning is more the foam then the tire. Good foam stops that to a degree.
