Is it worth it to go to the HPI HD dogbones instead of the normal HPI dogbones. Also I noticed that the HD dogbones are 1mm shorter, example normal is 8x84mm HD is 8x83mm. Does that 1mm make a difference?

the hd dog bones are a must in the outputs to the front diff and rear diff.

The outputs to wheels are not as stressed stay with stock there.

I would deffently get the HD dogbones, well worth the $11.00 or so, I was breaking the stock one's left & right I meen all the time,, got the HD ones and haven't broke one yet :hitit:

why I ask is because I was driving and suddenly noticed that it would rev really easy and not really get going. I picked up the truck assuming I'd see that one of the diff cup screws was gone (had this happen a few times), instead I see that I'm missing the rear center dogbone. I must have broke it and it flew off.

I beleive the hd's would serve you well. I have not tried the center ones yet, but I beleive they work. I think as long as the chassis doesn't flex alot, you'll be alright. Someone stop me if I'm lying.

I have the Savage X and I twisted the hell out of the wheel dogbones. I haven't had a problem with the center ones yet, but it would be the next weakest link. Key word is yet.

I was having the same problem. Now I have the HD's out to the wheels and they seem to hold up better but I still have busted a few ends off. I assume it is from weard landings where things bend and get snaped from the torque. However I have a very heavy rear center dogbone now as i went to the FLM ext. chassis. I think this bone is over 1/4" in diameter.

broke my first dog bone sat. front left tottally twisted the end off. that was the cheapest of the crash damage from the weekend lol. my revo well thats another story. so far i have parts coming from nitronuttz, tower, and i'll finish up at lhs.

I would personally not waste the money on the HD dogbones. I would stick with the stock. It's always better to have a cheap weak link. There is not much very much diff at all in the HD to the stock. When you put them on a press they bend at the exact same pressure! I have never tried the diff in the force of twisting the 2. The twisting of the dog bones have alot to do with the inertia that is being moved.
