I recently bought a Savage 25, and was told that the diff was shot. Sure enough, it was..at least the rear was, since that's all I have apart now. I ended up buying an aluminum diff cup on ebay from Nova RC. It looks like a really nice piece. But I only got the diff cup.
The HPI alloy cup comes with shims, and tabs that hold the little spider gears in place, that the Nova RC one doesn't. I'm wondering if I should have gone with the HPI ones. I'm almost tempted to get a set of the HPI ones just for the shims and the tabs. What do you all think? Also, what diff oil are you using. I'm thinking of using 30K. I'll probably just be bashing around the fields, local bmx track and on the street. What's a good weight to use? Also what weight shock oil are you using? I know it's a lot of questions, but I'm new to both the Savage and big nitro trucks like this. Thanks for any help you could provide.
