So that was build 3 and it's still pretty much the same. I ran the engine in and still not run it in anger. The truck has sat for a good while but with some inspiration from my 4 year old I have completely stripped it, cleaned it and started to rebuild it.
Might sound a little wierd but the truck just isn't "dumb" enough. I converted it to nitro after watching my friends bash there nitro Savages. Wheelies, tip overs, smoke, screaming nitro engines, madness! This thing feels like a truggy.
So I am making some changes.
Hellfire red springs
Super Heavy Duty X axles
17mm hex and pins
Flanged lock nuts
17t HD clutch bell
HD clutch bell to replace this. Steel spur ate it.
This is where I am at right now.
Waiting for new clutch bell bearings to arrive before I can do anymore, forgot them on the last order
So that's it, the short version of the story so far.
I've contemplated selling up a few times but I just can't do it. Thanks, just needs to be covered in mud now!Is it for sale? j/k
Looks sweet....very nice rig.
Thanks, I loved it when the truck was brushless but seeing my friends run there nitro Savages. I just had to do it.Great looking truck,
I've been there,
Had a flux then back to nitro,
Then built a twin savage,
Then back to brushless and finally back to nitro,
Just can beat the nitro buzz screaming past?
Run both savage xl flux and xl nitro with f5.9 engine
Thanks for your input, much appreciated. Think my shocks are built with 35wt atm. I'll see how I get on with the reds and I'll adjust from there.I run the hellfire white springs on my X with I think 40wt in the shocks. It does pretty well. I have a set of yellow's on the back of my flux hp with white up front. Not sure I'd want any stiffer than that. Just causes shock ends to snap. I tried 50wt with the yellows on the rear and white on the front, cost me 2-3 shock ends in a very short time. Went back to 40wt. 40wt with yellows is a bit light, they responded better with 50wt, but it does ok on the flux. Helps with the torque squat at least. Just a little more bouncy than I'd like. But I'm staying with the 40wt to avoid breaking ends constantly.
Good looking truck though!
