First time for me messing with new clutches etc. I'm setting up my LRP .30 with Max Life clutches, and the Mugen 1mm springs. I can't figure a way to get the spring to sit in the groove on the flywheel nut though. Is this ok?

If I put them on what I think is backwards the spring lands in the groove...

First off welcome to the forum! I cannot see your pic here at work because of work puter limitations, but by the time I get home I am sure someone will chime in. You have come to the right place to ask questions or just shoot the breeze in the shout.

I had tried to push it in, but it popped back out. I'll give it another shot, but if it can pop out on it's own, I don't expect it to stay in while spinning. This is the HPI nut btw.

I actually have these shoes and stock springs on with the HPI nut. I just forced the springs into the groove. I have been running it like that for a while now with no issues. Thanks for the part number though, I will keep that in mind for myself.

Word... i did the same thing... Saved and bookmarked part #

Well i tried to force it in, and it's not going to happen. Are you guys on the Max Life shoes that have had success? Maybe the shoes are offsetting the spring to much for me or something. The HPI springs work JUST, but site on a tight angle to get in the groove.

Guess I'm buying the nut...

Yes I have the exact same flywheel, max-life shoes, and HPI springs and HPI nut. I just made it work, sounds like Hyp did too, so I know it's possible.

So I threw a glow plug washer in ahead of the HPI nut. The springs fit in the groove now. On top preparing the clutch bell, and from the sounds of it cleaning out the bearings of factory lube?

i shimed my hpi nut and I'm running max lifes with mugeun springs on my picco and no issues what so ever
