clutch bell "play"

How much play should there be in the clutch bell? i just noticed on mine the little brass collar on the end of the drive shaft can actually be moved back and forth quite a bit and i can move the clutch bell back and forth a fair bit to is this normal?

There is play but there shouldn't be. Ofna sells a clutch bell shim kit that allows you to remove the "play" your referring to. Check SMF for the shim kit.

P.S....... Are u talking about the ofna hardened clutch bells that come with the bearings? thats the ones i found anyway, I'm assuming the bearings stop the "play"

I replaced the bushing with a bearing and used a small washer to shim. I've got no play now and the bell spins super smooth.

Ya the smf store is out of stock but i found the ofna shim kit at new era models, so thanks for your help!!

I second the ofna kit thats what i use, way better setup than stock
