Hey Guys
need some help here. I have just finished a major over haul of my truck. Need some help with my clutch bell. I have replaced the flywheel, clutch shoes, washers, bearings and a new clutch bell. My problem is when I tighten the screw the clutch bell doesn't move. Anyone have a clue cause I sure don't.
Thanks

no I don't have any shims in it, I followed the manual to the tee. I'll see if I can get some pics up

how many washers on screw? if the screw head & washer is presses tight on the cb it wont spin. you want a tiny bit of play. tiny..

What Flywheel nut are you using? if its to long with will cause problems as well or if the flywheel is not pushed clear back to the Crankcase front bearing.

THANKS for the help. everything is the stock hpi parts. I just bought all new parts and put it back together as per the manual. When I tighten the screw to tight it doesn't move but when I don't tighten it tight it screws out. I don't understand what is going on?

did you put the washer back in that sits between the inside cb bearing and the pilot nut? if your inside cb bearing is pushing up against your pilot nut that could be a pboblem

Hi, I'm having this exact same problem. I'm building my first savage and my clutch doesn't spin if I tighten the screw. Looking at the manual they say the shim is 5x10x0.5mm (Z694) so I used that shim, which they provide in the kit! I then swapped this out for a few 8x10x0.2mm shims and put them the otherside of the bearing (between the inner bearing and the CB). It now spins great with the screw tight. The only thing that worrys me is that the bearing is now touching the pilot nut. Can anyone tell me if this will be a problem?

I don't see how the clutch can work properly if you follow the manual because the shim they provide touches both the inner and outer parts of the bearing and I think this is what is causing it to lock up. Please let me know if I'm right or wrong! Thanks.
