I have just purchased a HPI Savage XL. I'd like to charge the receiver battery with a multicharger: http://www.protech.be/Manuals/T0256manual web.pdf

However, this charger has a JST connector for charging the receiver battery, while the car accepts a Futaba charge plug. Can I simply replace the charger's JST plug with a Futaba plug and charge the car?

Yes you can, but here is another option. use a Y harness which is a couple bucks and change one end out to the end your charger uses. also on the side of the radio box there is a spot to mount a charge jack so you do not have to take the radio box cover off to charge.
