CB bearings

Okay I have been though 4 CB bearings in the last 3 weeks. Recomendations for some HQ Bearings Please!

SMF has good baring prices. Frddj also made a nice thread dealing with all the different barings that they have. I believe that they go for like.99 each so much better then LHS. www.smfstore.com

Pope, how are you shimming your CB? Does it spin freely and keep spinning when you spin it by hand, or does it look likes its dragging? how much play do you have in the CB? Is there fwd-back movement and if so how much (estimate). Clutch shoes ok or are they slipping causing a lot of heat? 4 bearings in 3 weeks is a lot so something else may be the problem other than bead bearings.

I get my bearings from SMF, 99 cents a piece and have not had any problems.

+1 on SMF for your bearings. Great price to buy extras to have and still not spend alot of money.

two diffrent clutchs This one has too much forward and back play the other one was the cluch shoe slid forward on the post somehow.

Sounds like a shim issue of some sort, but if you want bearings of better quality, I can get them as well.

your best off to resolve the issue using the inexpensive bearings as test pilots.

if you buy more expensive bearings without resolving the issue......
