Brake screws coming loose.

The two screws that hold your pads and shoes on always come loose and make me have no brakes. What i did is took the screws out, put jb weld on the threads and screwed that back in.Let it dry overnite. Anyone ever have this problem before, and if so how did u fix?

I had this problem. I tried epoxy and that worked for a while. I ended up buying a new transmission case and using finer threaded screws. Never had a problem ever since.

Agreed with Fx. I always replace the stock screw with a Machine threaded screw along with a dab of CA glue upon screwing it in.

Is it too late to use a machine screw if you've already used a course threaded scerw?

My permanent fix for any brake woes was to take out the tranny, drill both holes through, and put a flat head screw through the holes from the inside. Put on the brake parts (doing this is much easier too) and counter it with two nuts.

This will never get loose or come off by itself plus it brakes like a champ (steel on steel, no pads) - can do somersaults at will. 😉
