Ok guys i striped my discs from adjusting them too tight... What i am really confused with is my LHS says that i am suppose to have some form of brake pads where the calipers are.... I got the truck brand new and it did not have any pads on them..... Now i am getting carbonfibre discs do i need to get some pads???? Did HPI overlook the brake pads??? Was this the reason my discs was destroyed?????

Thanks
Dev

did you have the red fiber rotors or the stainless steel rotors?
with the ss rotors there are pads that have a adhiesive backing and you put them on the metal pads to contact with the rotors.
the red fiber disk rotors did not have pads, the ss metal calipers contact the red fiber pads directly with nothing between them.

What truck is this on. The X RTR had a fiber disk with just metal pads.

About the best pads for the Savage is the new Red fiber brake kit. Works great and stops well and don't fad. They last well as well.

1 What brakes do you have on the truck? 2 if you can upload a pic. 3 The only ones that need a brake pads on the caliper is the dual steel discs. The rest don't. http://www.hpiracing.com/graphics/instr/87150.pdf

I agree with larsenracing the red discs are the best ones that Hpi offers, the steel dual discs are good also but tend to fade a bit and I've even ripped off a few of the pads. Hope this helps.

nope your good...imo
just check your calipers for wear and sharp edges, if they are worn really bad and have sharp edges that a little bit of sand paper can't get out I would recomend that you replace them too.
