beadlock vs non beadlock

I'm looking new wheels and tires and cant decide if i want beadlocks or not. What are you suggestions.
 
i suggest beadlock becuase you can change the tire with having to worry about glue, but the only beadlocks i recommend are maximizer, i run them and they can take a pounding and wont throw the bead.

hey swerve ... i run axial bead locks they hold up good but 96 screws a set sux... also they are 40 series so on the huge side. they help with roll over .. but are cluttsy feeling to me ..i think the maximizers are better but haven't tried them myself..

also if you go with none bead locks you have to glue tire on.. so with bead locks y0ou can try different tires with the ease of removeing them alot easier than the glued on ones.

I'm looking for my next tire wheel set up aswell so ill be watching this thread to see what ppl got to say..

but over all its a matter of own personal likes.. dare to try something different .. why be the same cause they say use um? lol but the imput does help alot.. good luck..

You will spend forever with the screws though but it would be nice to be able to change tires. I am dealing with the same deceision think I am going with beadlocks though can't decide on what ones though

I take it you've never seen a Proline 40 series beadlock...

I like beadlocks because of the look. I like how the ring goes around the rim, but that's just me. It's also much easier to swap your tires since you don't need to bake or boil off the tire when it's glued on.
 
IMO beadlocks suck, after a while of hard running dirt and water will weasel its way into your tires, once you put one set of tires on you will never want to change them out again due to all of the screws. get yourself a set of MT wheels that you like and a good set of tires for your application and call it a day. I run axial beadlocks and mulcher 40 series and I'm getting rid of them to go back to MT wheels with glued tires.
 
i was looking a the maximizers becuase they are pretty cheap right now, i found em for 15 a pair.

I have a set of the black 17mm hex 1/2" offset and love them.

Only like 8 screws per wheel, piece of cake to install tires....

Might be difficult at first but once you learn how it works and how it goes together, it is VERY EASY.

I have never slipped a bead either, very strong rim btw also.
 
I would also recomend the Maxies.. I had the Axail 40 series BL and now have a set of the maximizers.. A heck of alot less screws to deal with than the Axail's... Maximizer FTW...

if your set on bealocks, then ive had same experience as parker - maximizer 1/2" offsets & over 3 gallons of fuel & no troubles.

now for the downside- they are heavy. very heavy.

also, i see myself buying new rims to put on my new tires instead of re-using the beadlocks caz then i'll just have a set of tires with no rim. so what then? buy another set of beadlocks? :crazzy:
