i have big plans for the savy for the next month or two but here is a little teaser of some of the work going into it. this is just a "mock" up as i wont be using these tvp's, skid and a few other unmentionables 😉

thanks guys, the mount is actually from a jammin x2 same as the center diff the center shafts I'm using will also be from the x2. the "spur" is 48t and the pinion will be 19t, I'm not sure how the truck will react with it but this hobby is all about trial and error. this setup is fully adjustable by using washers of different thicknesses as "shims" or "spacers".
there are alot of things I'm not showing anyone till i have it built and test fitted but we will just say it will be saaaaweet and a great replacement of the $140 rsc 😀

i might use the brakes but i just want to get everything mounted and tested before i got CRAZY lol, just want to make sure everything will work.
i plan on mounting the batts inside of the tvp's but i have to wait till everything is mocked in place and i have all the parts ive ordered to know if it is in fact feasible to put them inside.

this truck will be the cross bread of about 40% Jammin x2 and 60% savage flux

I would aim for a 14-15 tooth bell, 19 would be way too much and put tons of load on the motor. Just a thought.

thanks robin will go ahead and order the other novak kit then with the smaller pinions, i didnt think i would have to go that low but now that u mention it i remember that truggys run them smaller :duh:
thank god i built this to be adjustable with shims lol
keep an eye out then guys i may have a bunch of pinions forsale after the build 18-22 :duh:

yea ill do a little update when all my parts come in, i have some progress but i don't want to post it till i have a little more 🙂

ill think about it but I'm not the biggest fan of the setup.... it seems that there will be alot of stress put onto that single side of the center diff mount and in my eyes it would flex way to much with a motor like the 2200 i just wouldnt trust it.
with the progress i have of now i have the center diff mounted, the motor mounted and my new tvp's.. i also have my little secret modded and mounted asel.
I'm just waiting on my real skid plate so i can permanently mount the center diff, as of now its just on that flm skid which i would not trust with the center diff because all it would take is one good hit to the aluminum to cause a little ding or dent which would throw my mesh completely off.
come monday or tuesday ill have this thing 50% done with what i want to do with the little "secret" just waiting on the parts.

You say there is a lot of stress on that set up but look how many set ups are like that for example, the e-maxx, e-revo, truggy/ buggy conversions all have the same idea by mounting the motor by 2 screws, so it is proven that it can handle being mounted like that. And I do see what you mean bout the CD but if you think about it its not that much stress really cause you will have support on the top and bottom of the CD, and again it brings me back to the buggy/truggy conversions cause all the stress is on their side of the motor. So there won't be any or very little stress on it. And like I stated in my other post it would be a lot lighter b/c you wont have the clamps on there and it would be about half the motor plate alone. So weight wise it makes sense and it is proven it works.

you are right in a way traxxas but the way they mount the motor plate is not how its mounted in a e converted truggy i believe, the mount mounts to the chassis not the center diff mount. imo it being mounted to the center diff mount will cause ALOT of stress on that mount, bearing etc. i do understand where your coming from with the weight thing. as of right now I'm going to test it out with what i have and most likely ill revise it with something simple like what you linked or a truggy mount.

we will see mick 😉 i have quite a bit up my sleeve lol

little more of a teaser.... try and figure out whats going on in this pic mahahahahah

heres a peek... ill post all the progress when i have the cord to my camera tomorrow... untill then this single phone pic will do

lol thanks man it sure will!

i will be using the flux boxes, i planed on mounting the batts in the tvp's but i decided against it for these reason's
if i mounted them inside it would raise the CG but would wiegh less as there were no plastic boxes
mounting them in the boxes keeps the CG low to the ground but added a little wieght. imo this will be a little better but i always have the option to expermient between the two so we will see which way i go in the end.

just so you guys know the entire suspension is from a x2 truggy aside from the front shocks as those are hellfires. this includes the lower arms, knuckles, hubs, rear shocks, cvd's, 17mm axle adaptors, rear upper arms are from the x2 but the front uppers are stock adjustable savage uppers.
the shock towers are stock x towers with some dremel work done to them to make the shocks mount lower.
the chassis is from PRC along with the skid that will be coming.
ill do a complete walk thru as soon as my GF remembers my camera cord from her house lol.
the center diff/mount is from a x2 along with both center cvd's.

thanks guys and sure hope so bajaboy...
some better quality pics... finally got my camera cord back from the gf's lol
sorry there kinda dark, my room doesnt have the best lighting.. ill get better ones in the morning.

MORE TO COME TOMORROW !!! ENJOY

it will sit with the arms exactly level like in the rear its just the fact the hellfires just cant handle the weight and droop down like in the pictures. ill be replacing them with jammin rear 16mm big bores just like the ones on the rear of my truck 🙂 just have to gather up some funds for them.
