ok so it was an INTERESTING AND FUN FILLED DAY to say the least at the bash with freddy, bank, jud, baileiz and magoo today lol.

when i first got to the bash site i knew i had to charge the batts WELL i didnt know you needed different wires to charge the batts and balance SO i had to make a quick run down to hobby fever to get the right plugs thankfully they had what i needed.
got back to the site, plug the charger into my car batt and bank proceded to program it and read the directions since i hate reading..... after bout 15 mins it was ready everyone was jumping away from the car after hearing the horror stories about the batts catching fire and what not so i was the brave soul that held the enter button to commence charging.... all went well lol and after 55 mins i had 2 completely charge batts.

NOW TO THE GOOD PART, i was skeptical of plugging the batts into the esc as i didnt want to see flames or smoke but i got over it and pluged them in and all was good for all of 2 mins... we turn the truck on and hear beeps (we were all electric noobs so didnt know what it ment lol) bank proceded to read the (drivers ed) book and we figured out how to sync the remote the the reciver and what not... after reading the book and on the LAST STEP i was fooling with the trigger and as bank read "and the truck is now armed" the truck JUMP unexpectingly at full trottle hitting me in the arm and shooting rocks allll over the place as everyone was taking cover i walked to the truck to shut it off... well the idiot that i am shut the TX off before getting to the truck and what do ya know the dam thing goes full throttle back flips lands on its lid and all i see is a tire go shooting under banks car and pieces just fly EVERYWHERE.
i stripped the pinion gear, the knuckle exploded into 3 pieces the anntena broke off the RX and blew the bead on a second tire.... all within 1 min of plugging the dang batts in... lol

to be continued....

well now that i knew what NOT to do we proceded to the bmx track were i wrenced for about 1-2hrs to get the truck back together and i had to borrow a spectrum from JUD since my antenna was basiclly lost.... at this point i would say "pluging in batts" and as i say it everyone would get as far away from the truck as they could lol
got it running and played around for about 2 mins then i nailed the throttle and found that i only had FWD, i brought it in closer and me being and idiot AGAIN nail the throttle and all you see is the front wheels get huge and a foam go flying about 15ft from the truck, the foam ripped into 3 different pieces lol, thankfully the reason i had FWD was that the set screw in the pinion cup backed out.... brought the truck into the pits to also find ANOTHER BROKEN motor pinion.... bank went to touch the spur and burnt is hand lol it got near 300* since the locknut backed out.
i wrenched another 1-2 hrs and go to get the truck going and find that the stupid switch is fried on the esc so now i got some work to do...

Man that was a great day! I will say DO NOT let a child use one of these. BA's setup is crazy. Good times! The only one that did not run their truck is Frddyj. BA we will need to check out your neck of the woods some point before the summer is over, it sounded really cool. Good luck wrenching on that beast and I can't wait for it to run for more then a min or two before it destroys itself.

man it looks like it might be fast but will it hold together

my vote is that it will hold. keep in mind that badd got this build together very quickly (mostly so i could see it before i go on hiatus) to the point where his first charge was actually at the bash.

he dint get a chance to test or get to know the truck before it went out on the bash course.

with that being said, i say he goes back & makes adjustments & he's good to go.

***1 footnote***

this truck will still be more than capable of blowing itself to smithereens no matter how you build it.

VERY true freddy, I'm sure it will only get better with time.

Having built one very quickly...I can say from experience that you should take your time building a brushless with this kinda power. I wasn't patient enough the first time either!! haha

your right fred I did throw you under the bus... you were busy with helping out getting BA's up and running.

i have seen the vid and you have way too much torque on that beatiful build savage...
you will never put that power on the ground with all that torque!!

regards

by the time we reached the track, i already missed the greatest opportunity for video so i wasnt about to miss another.

to this i say "Muhhuhhhaaaahahaaaa!!! " evil clown

lol we will see about that! i have major plans for this beauty so stay tuned!!

Man BA that has some wicked A$$ power..Can't wait to see a vid when you can keep it all together...So what plans do you have in store for this wicked beast?

not sure IHT at this point its just getting the truck to last more then 5 mins before exploding lol.

i should be able to run it again by the end of the week. only thing is i need to find a on/off switch that can handle the power as mine lasted 5 mins then failed.. CHRIS need some help here lol.

and i don't want to eliminate the switch i want one so that is not an option at this point.

But really, get a toggle switch with a cover. Like you see in the movies. That would look nice right in front of the rear tower protected.

I can run the switch by my local electronics place if you give me the voltage and current it needs to handle. They have just about anything you could need.

can you link me to one chris?

sparc, I'm not sure what amount of current actually "goes" to the switch so i wouldn't know. i know the esc is getting 22.2 volts but of that i have not an idea of that actually goes to the switch itself.
ive heard many people say there switch fails and they just take the two wires and connect them but i do not want to eliminate the switch in my eyes its just another thing to help in shutting off power really fast.
