I'm looking to maybe buy something cheap and small to run around in the house for fun. I'm thinking 1/18 scale. I would like to keep it cheap and may buy used from ebay if it comes with extras. I would also like to keep it stock as long as possible.

I was wondering whether it'd be best to go with a 4wd truck or 2wd truck. What's durable and what's fast? Are these small trucks hard to work on? Are they good times in the house?

How big is you house or the space you will be driving in. 1/18 is a bit big for a normal sized house. If you will be driving on carpet or rough concrete 2wd works. If driving on lino or slick concrete you need 4wd. I have an Xray M18MT and a mini-t. The mini-t tranny is a pain in the bum to get right so there is no drag. The Xray is sweet but I really haven't had enough time to play with it to see how durable it is. It is awesome off road though.

The space I have now is not very big; it would be suitable for a micro. But we are hoping to move soon to a bigger place where i would hopefully have lots of room.
So it sounds like 4wd would be best. I just don't want something where I have problems with the drivetrain. I've read that the cen 1/18 mt (don't remember the name of the truck) has a strong drivetrain.
Do the mini trucks have reverse?

I have a losi mini-t, losi, desert truck micro, losi minilst brushless conversion and love them all.
since getting the mlst I don't run the mini-t, pm me if you are interested. I may sell it.

The mini's are great for whenthe weather sucks, or you just wanna scare the cat!!
