Does anyone have any good suggestions for keeping the antenna from getting broken when your tires are pointed at the sky? I've tried cutting the antenna tube at the body line then joining it with the fuel tubing and that lasted a little longer than the 2nd antenna tube I bought. The last time I broke the antenna wire and tube all together. So now the wire just barely sticks out of the body which is nice but will be giving me communication problems eventually. I'm currently running the stock Tx and Rx gear. If someone has a good tip please let me know, I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks!!

Generally, mine have been cut off from being pinched between the rollbar and the ground. I eventually just wrapped the whole tube with thick tape to give it a better chance, lol.

Thanks for the help Wister. But when I click on the link it takes me to the original thread I started. Could you please re-post the link for the goods you were talking about. Thanks!!

i know this sounds funny and maybe I'm just lucky but i just set my body down over truck and don't pull the ant through the body just kinda tuck it through the back body mount never had any problems yet i had more problems putting it where your suposed to good luck :Xfingers:

Thanks Wister, that looks like it might work. I'm a little confused as to how it mounts and whether you put the antenna when it's in use on the truck. Could you post some pictures of how you used it in your truck? Would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi,

I don't have one in my truck, I have a 2.4ghz system on my trucksthey use a very short antenna anyway. I do have one on my quadracopter (like a helicopter) that i a 72mhz system it works well on it.

The Azzar antenna is just a peice of wire with a small bump in it, I believe it is a coil, anywy it is some component that makes it work with a short wire. If I were you, I would email the guy on the website, he is the inventor and ask him any questions you have he is a nice guy and will answer your questions pretty quickly. On the planes and stuff I know that people just tape them on the body, I am not sure on the truck. one thing I do know is you are not suposed to lay them on any metal or CF cause it is conductive.

I wuld send him a link with a picture of the inside of the turck (with the body off) and ask. Ask about range too, I am pretty sure he says 85% of orginal range or your money back on the 72mhz antennas I would imagine it would even be better with the 27mhz because of the frequency. (I think our stock antennas are 1/8 wave instead of 1/4th wave that the 72mhz use, so It might even give better range than the stock antenna but I am only guessing.

Thanks Wister!! Just finished sending the guy an e-mail so we'll see what he says. If anyone else has other suggestions I'm still entertaining all ideas!!

Hey tractorman, I would say tucking the antenna inside the body is the best bet. I'm using a 2.4ghz radio and I have the antenna tucked under the roll bar. With the number of times we roll these trucks on their roofs nothing is going to protect the antenna forever if its sticking out the top.

i just put mine out the back window where it is cut out for the roll cage never had a problem yet
