Hey every one, first off I hope you all had a nice christmas, and second of all please help me lol.

This is the second time I have Blown my Ideal gear now along with a few gears in my tranny. Its only since I upgraded to a LRP .30.

My question is am I doing any thing wrong or is it my driving (Although I was only racing a mate in a car park) or is it the power of the mill thats too much for the gears??

please help I am needing answers :0) Thanks in advance.

oh an HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.

Brad.

I have a Novarossi 28-7Turbo in my savage and I haven't even blown up those gears lol. Few questions to help us:
1- are you using a steel spur gear? If so when you change out from the plastic your next weakest link to break is your tranny or clutch bell.
2- How tight is the slipper nut on your spur gear? To tight it wont slip to prevent a tranny being blown up.
3- Have you shimmed your tranny? If not try it, there is alot of play in a stock tranny. If so, have you shimmed it to tight?

hey man thanks for the reply.

yeh I'm running a steel and i tightened it as it says in the manual all the way in a quarter turn out. may be il loosen it a bit more and no i haven't shimmed it. i will now tho when i get the parts in and see how it goes.

thanks again dude.
