Alternative aluminum diff gasket for hpi 86599

Does anyone know if there is an alternative for aluminum diff gasket hpi 86599. They are discontinued for some reason and was wondering if paper gasket is only option now? Or are there other aluminum diff gaskets that would work on plastic hpi 101026 diff housing for the BP diff build?

Those are the paper ones correct? I ordered those just in case. Will one each do the job or is two needed?

I just used one, and yes, they are cardboardish stuff. Basically, ordinary gaskets.

Do yourself a very large favor and ditch those plastic diff covers. In the end they will cause nothing but issues. Replace them with:

Should be a drop in replacement I believe. I have always had the aluminum diff covers, so I can't say for certain.

So is there performance issues with the plastic one you've had before? Those do look pretty tough lol!

The plastic housings warp and flex. This causes the gear mesh to have issues under load, ultimately the gears break.

Hmm makes sense to me.... if I would of known ahead of time I would got aluminum. I'll have to order and replace it soon down the road. Spent to much already lol. So how long have your BP gears lasted using those diff housings?

It's all relative really. Maybe you'll get lucky and never have an issue. The fact of the matter is that the plastic housings cause the diffs to fail at a much higher rate than the aluminum casings. This is why they are now standard on everything.
