hello guys well i thought i new a little about this sport but i guess I'm still new OK i broke in my savy while breakin it just wouldn't run at idle it only ran at a high rpm off the ground i tried to lower the idle needle and it just shut off so i left it alone and ran a tank threw . after the first tank i ran three more at low speed just like the manual said on the fourth tank i started to lean the mill i did everything the book stated but now when i try to start the truck i have to get it up to 230 before it even can and stay running after that it runs good wheelies and everything when the fuel runs out i let it cool and refuel it, starts up fine but when i try to throttle it half it shuts down and u can here a loud klink i tried everything set it back to factory setting just wont stay running if i try to throttle it maybe i just mess the mill up don't know. but the next day i try at it again and the same thing runs fine first tank then problems again. I even took it apart sealed the backplate sealed the throttle to the mill just the same thing happens maybe i need to go to my LHS so they can take a look at it or if any one could help please. i broke in my 3evo with out any problems i followed the instruction in the manual and look here for help and got it i mean my 3evo ripps so help me please!!!!!!

Might try a different plug ..... sounds like you linkage needs adjusted ..

Take your air filter off and there should be a 1mm gap at all times when the breaks are applied , or at idle ..

Welcome to the forum . Keep us posted

i did that the carb is at 1mm and i tried another plug R5 also when i went to break if just shut off i found my mill screws was loose fix that problem and adjusted the linkage but still have the other one maybe I'm not tunning it right or maybe there's something wrong with the carb

Hi,

Iam still new to this don't know how much help I can be on this problem but I am wondering what type of fuel and % of nitro, plug's your using and which mill is it or which truck is it RTR or SS?

Also I am kind of wondering if there isn't something your doing that your used to doing on the revo that is the opposite on hpi's?

I just brok my first mill in a month or 2 ago the F.46 it came on the RTR version it was really rich at factory settings and was very hard to keep running during breakin.

Good luck,

John

o'donnel 20%fuel and a R5 glow plug the mill is the stock F 4.1 SAVAGE X RTR

I USE A R4 IN MY 4.1 AND IT RUNS GREAT!

the r4 is a medium cold plug so its usually good for most "normal" conditions but i wasnt saying thats what was wrong with your truck but thats what I'm running and believe it or not I'm still using the same plug that came in the truck when i bought it !! quite often the plug needs replacing after break in but mine is still fine and my sav x 4.1 runs 230-240 always!!
