Acts overgeared, but it's not

so my savage... running the F 4.6, (tried my SH .26 too) is running a 17CB and a 47 spur. dynamite maxlife shoes with 1.1mm springs. both engines labor a lot, and my brand new maxlifes need de burred at 8 tanks. the truck itself has a gallon on it. FLM extended, running the stock jelly donut tires. i have a NIP 2 speed i kept as a spare, so i could replace the trans if need be. the truck is not stuck in 2nd gear, it does shift. any ideas?

with the radio on and the engine off does it roll freely?

it did until my clutch shoes started to hang

from full throttle to neutral, and everywhere in between, it was bind free. with the tires off of the ground, it wings right up like it should.

the reson there buring is the 1.1 springs it take a lot more rpm to get them to hit and that means the clutch slips till it hits

now i wish i had some 1.0s laying around... or maybe .95s

Yeah I would not run 1.1's in a savage. I run 1.0's on my max lifes and they make a good combo.

one of my 1.1 springs broke, causing one shoe to hang... my shoes still look like new, and i found some 1.0s and threw them on. testing tomorrow, but it feels much better already
