5.9 compression question

I took the XL out for a serious bashing yesterday. When done, I went to rotate the flywheel to my marked BDC but it would not move. I pulled the glow plug, rotated fine, put it back, will not rotate. I recently put in an MC59, which is a bit longer than the plug I took out. Is this the cause? If so is this all OK.? Should I use an additional brass gasket? Not use the plug?

The engine has about a gallon and a half through it.

I use a mc-9 in my lrp with no issues. They are the same size as your mc-59. Sounds like maybe you are stopping it right at the top of the stroke, where the pinch will be its tightest.
