I'm assuming you are talking about running 8 big bore shocks. I pretty sure that you can I've seen it done. It will be pretty stiff so you'll want to play with spring and oil combinations.
Here's my new clutch set-up. Items used: dynamite max life shoes, mugen 1.0 springs(with mugen nut), acer bearings and hpi vented 15t clutch bell.
I also used ofna clutch bell shim kit, which came with this little black cone washer thing to use with a hex screw. I very happy with the way...
Here's the mugen nut installed, much better. The spring is at a better angle and snapped right into position. Hopefully this thread can others in the future.
I have the original savage x with the f4.1, its has the dual slipper. I just got a new stock spur gear, because my robinson racing finally wore out. My question is how nessacary is the little hex washer? With the washer the lock nut doesn't thread in very far and the spring is crooked and the...
I know that this is old thread, but I have the original savage x with F4.1 and it has the dual slipper clutch. I've just realized because I've been looking for new gears that HPI changed the slipper assembly. Why did they change the slipper? Is the newer single slipper better than the dual slipper?
I just got max life shoes and mugen 1.0 springs. I have the stock hpi flywheel and clutch nut. Everything is mounted, the springs seam to be at a slightly extreme angle to be on the nut. I'm a little worried that they will slip of the nut. I've read that you do need the mugen nut and that you...
Thanks I'll give it a try.
Question: Would reading the output on the tranny give accurate speed ratings because of the gear changes assuming I calculated the rollout correctly?
I find that my temp readings are greatly different from telemetry to temp gun. Telemetry is 50-60F hotter. I haven't hooked up the rpm sensor. It is nice knowing the receiver voltage well using my hump pack. Be aware that the telemtry has a limited range in which it will send signal back. Also...
I tried it once just to try it(took out the front driveshaft). It was kind of cool but totally out of control. Way too much power for just two wheels. Give it a shot it is fun.
My addiction/obsession started with the May 2006 issue of RCDriver. I picked it up one day at the grocery store.
I had never owned a hobby grade RC before. After reading the mag cover to cover I decided I had to have one and the Savage X looked awesome. My wife was pregnant with our son at...
Little update. I waited for Axial wheels to arrive. Got the trenchers mounted and I'm pretty happy with them, although their a little on the wide side. They are offset more than proline tech 5 wheels. I'll post some picks later.
That's what I bought first; premounted trenchers on tech 5's but I didn't like the offset and sent them back. I have Axial oversize 8 spoke wheels(nonbeadlock) on backorder until late April but they are a wider wheel. I was hoping that HPI's blast wheels would have some offset to them plus they...
Is this possible? I know that the blast and tremor wheels are bigger than 3.8 or 40 series wheels but I'm wondering if a 3.8 tire can be streched over the wheel. Kind of like mounting 3.2 tires on half-ups. Mounting diameter of blast wheels are 115mm vs. 3.8 wheels 97mm, difference of 18mm...
